Do I need a Car?
It is not necessary as uber, lyft, and taxis are available for pick-up and drop-off on figure eight island. however, be aware that availability may be limited and prices may be more expensive during peak weekend hours.
We will be providing shuttles for wedding weekend events for guests staying on island and at the holiday inn express porters neck.
Restaurants & groceries
There are no restaurants on Figure Eight Island. The Yacht Club is for members only. There are many delightful restaurants off-island but they are at least a 10 minute drive.
Uber eats and Grub Hub can deliver to figure eight island houses.
The closest grocery is the harris teeter on porters neck road, about 10 minutes from the island.
parking
all cars coming onto figure eight island must have a gate pass. Please inquire with your rental host on securing your car passes so your name will be registered at the gate on arrival.
please be sure to park all vehicles on driveways or, if you are parking along the street, be sure to have all 4 tires off of the street surface to avoid getting a parking ticket.
